Although Long Energy installs and services gas systems, we suggest you stay with clean, efficient, modern Oilheat. Here are the simple facts why you should not convert to gas heat.

Oilheat is a better value than natural gas

Converting your Oilheat systems to natural gas can cost up to $6,500 or more once you include the new equipment, ductwork, tank removal, plumbing and electrical work. In most cases, a chimney liner is also needed, which can cost up to an additional $1,000. Plus, gas bills contain a variety of “hidden costs,” including delivery surcharges, seasonal adjustments and taxes. On the other hand, Money Magazine has reported that upgrading to today’s high-efficiency Oilheat systems could “save you more money than any other home improvement project” and concludes that “the cost of converting would probably be higher than the savings.”
